(New York Times) Rachel Lee Harris - Zubin Mehta, a former music director for the New York Philharmonic, will conduct the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert on Monday near the Gaza border in southern Israel in support of demands for the release of Staff Sgt. Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier who has been held prisoner by Hamas in Gaza for four years. Mehta said he hoped the program would inspire Gazans to pressure the Hamas government to allow the Red Cross to visit Sgt. Shalit.
