(New York Times) J. David Goodman - In a post on his Facebook page, the American ambassador to Syria, Robert Ford, said that in an attack on his convoy on Thursday, supporters of President Assad threw "concrete blocks at the windows and hit the cars with iron bars." A video posted online showed a cracked windshield and at least one protester attacking the back of the car with a metal rod.
