(Jerusalem Post) Herb Keinon - Israeli officials expressed regret Thursday at the UN Security Council's condemnation of IDF actions in Rafah, disgust at the wording of an EU statement, but satisfaction that the U.S. abstained from the UN vote and did not join the harsh censure. Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said that Israel "regrets" that the UN took a "narrow" view of the IDF actions in Rafah. "The action in Rafah is meant to put an end to terror and attacks on IDF soldiers," he said. Rather than criticize Israel for fighting terror, Shalom said he would expect the international community "to come out with a call to the Palestinians to do what they are obligated to do - to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure."
