The Arab and the Islamic worlds today stand defeated, and the sense of humiliation will be there for a long time. Many Muslims and Arabs wanted the U.S.-led coalition to beat Saddam. But they also wanted the Iraqis to put up a better fight. They were waiting for the battle of Baghdad that Saddam had promised.
