(Jerusalem Post) - Bret Stephens Abbas is a serious person, and Dahlan is a serious person. They are two of the few in the Palestinian Authority that said publicly more than once that the continued violence of the second intifada does not make sense from the Palestinian point of view, and that suicide bombing is not the right approach to deal with the Israelis. If they will not be able to make sure that they will have all the executive power and that Arafat is left only with a symbolic role, if they are not ready to crack down on Islamic Jihad, Hamas, and even on the Aksa Brigades of Fatah's terror organization, they will end up as failures.
