(New York Times) Three American soldiers were killed on Sunday and Monday in Baghdad amid growing signs of guerrilla resistance to American forces. Two were shot in encounters with gunman and the third was killed when an explosive device struck his vehicle. On Saturday, 7 Iraqi police recruits were killed and more than 70 people wounded when an explosive device was detonated during the graduation of the first class of the new American-trained Iraqi police force.
