(Bloomberg) - A U.S. Senate committee is demanding a list of Saudi Arabian citizens that the Treasury Department has secretly identified as financiers of terrorist front groups. "There is a considerable concern here in the Congress about Saudi Arabia being shielded for foreign policy purposes,'' said Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.). He and Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) asked the Treasury to provide the Senate Government Affairs Committee with the names within 24 hours. The committee is looking into Saudi Arabian financial and ideological links to al-Qaeda and Hamas.
