(Reuters/MSNBC) Jewish settlement population in the West Bank and Gaza Strip grew by 5.7% in 2002, government figures showed on Tuesday. Births accounted for 3.1% of the growth, a Central Bureau of Statistics official said, with 2.6% coming from newcomers. The Bureau said 14,600 Israelis moved in and 10,600 moved out of settlements last year.
