(London Times) Editorial - In the end, the Palestinian leadership has only itself to blame for the fence. Had there been the necessary moves to curb terrorism and stop the infiltration of suicide bombers, the Israelis would not have undertaken such a hugely costly barrier. In that Arafat thwarted the attempt by Mahmoud Abbas to confront Hamas, he made the extension of the fence inevitable. The new Palestinian prime minister must take the initiative against terrorism if he is not to see his country irrevocably split.
