(AP/Oklahoman) - More than 500 members of the Oklahoma Army National Guard will go to the Sinai Peninsula early next year, military officials said Wednesday. The soldiers will spend six months in the Middle East, replacing Oregon soldiers who will return home in January. Their mission will be to maintain peace by reporting activity along the borders of the Sinai between Egypt and Israel, operating 12 remote observation and checkpoint sites.
