(Fathom-BICOM) Jonathan Spyer - The U.S. remains justifiably concerned at the possibility that weapons it provides to Syrian rebels could find their way into the hands of extremist jihadis. Informed sources revealed to me that items from a shipment of TOW anti-tank missiles, sent to rebels in the north in April 2014, have already ended up in the hands of Jabhat al-Nusra, the al-Qaeda franchise in Syria, despite supposed precautions taken by the U.S. and the Saudis.
