They are branded negatively as "normalizers" or even traitors, and some have received death threats. Leslie Ordeman, press attache for the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem, says, "The anti-normalization movement feels almost Orwellian. It effectively cuts off any type of interaction between average Palestinians and average Israelis....There is no room to engage with anyone who might actually need to be convinced."
