(Jeusalem Post) Jonathan Spyer - Five years on, the conflict in Syria appears nowhere close to conclusion. The rebellion - now an entirely Sunni Islamist affair - still holds ground and appears in no immediate prospect of eclipse. In the Sunni-Shia proxy war currently under way, no side has a clear and obvious advantage. Rather, the proxies appear capable of surviving each other's assaults, but not of achieving comprehensive victory.
