"Egyptian-Israeli relations are today at their highest level in history," Nathan Thrall, senior analyst for the International Crisis Group, told Al Jazeera. In 2016, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry visited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Egypt also reinstated its ambassador, following Morsi's decision to pull out the envoy in 2012.
