(Washington Post) Dan Lamothe and Thomas Gibbons-Neff - U.S. Marines have deployed in Syria to set up an artillery battery to deliver fire support for U.S.-backed local forces who are preparing an assault on the Islamic State-held city of Raqqa. Additional infantrymen from the unit will provide security.
