(Iran News Wire) Adena Nima - A court in Qazvin Province in northwest Iran has requested death sentences for 17 striking truckers, the state-run IRNA news agency reported. Human rights sources say that more than 300 truckers have been detained during the strike, which has spread to more than 300 cities. Iranian truckers see the strike as the only way to protest low and unpaid wages and the high cost of parts and tires.
