(Wall Street Journal) Rory Jones - Hundreds of thousands of foreign workers have lost their jobs in wealthy Middle East states amid the coronavirus pandemic and are streaming home to Asian nations that have long relied on their earnings. In recent weeks, 300,000 Indians and Pakistanis have registered to leave, as well as many of the more than a million Filipinos working in the Gulf. Gulf countries are an extreme example of the reliance on migrant labor. In the UAE, 80% of the nine million residents are foreign-born.
