(New York Times) Jane Arraf - American airstrikes in a joint mission with Iraqi forces on Wednesday killed a top Islamic State leader in Iraq, Jabbar Salman Ali Farhan al-Issawi, 43, and 9 other ISIS fighters near Kirkuk, American and Iraqi officials said Friday. Iraqi officials described al-Issawi as the second in command of ISIS. An ISIS attack on a Baghdad market last week killed 32 Iraqis and wounded more than 100.
