(BBC News-UK) Hardliner Ebrahim Raisi, Iran's top judge, has won Iran's presidential election in a race that was widely seen as being designed to favor him. Raisi is under U.S. sanctions and has been linked to past executions of political prisoners. Official figures showed voter turnout at 49%, the lowest rate ever for a presidential election, compared to more than 70% in 2017.
