(New York Times) Eric Lipton - U.S. Navy ships stationed in the Persian Gulf region have increased their patrols through the Strait of Hormuz in response to recent moves by Iran to seize two oil tankers. "Iran's actions are unacceptable," Vice Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. naval forces in the region, said Monday in Bahrain. Iran has harassed, attacked or interfered with 15 internationally-flagged merchant ships since 2021, Pentagon officials said.
