(Times of Israel) Jacob Magid - Starting Thursday, U.S. citizens on the Palestinian Authority's population registry will be allowed to travel to and through Israel - including Ben-Gurion International Airport - for up to 90 days, a senior State Department official said Wednesday. Previously, Palestinian-Americans had to travel first to Jordan. The change is a key component as Israel seeks to join the U.S. Visa Waiver Program. The U.S. will monitor Israel's implementation of the new measures over the next six weeks and decide whether Israel "merits admission into the program" by Sept. 30.
