Chevron, the American energy giant, manages the platform and finds itself with a trove of gas on Europe's doorstep. Expanding production at Leviathan and streamlining the pipelines between Israel and its neighbors are expected to potentially allow exports to more than double. Once reliant on coal-burning power plants, Israel now generates 70% of its electricity from gas.
