(AP-Washington Post) Bassem Mroue - Hizbullah confirmed on Saturday that Hassan Nasrallah, who led the group for more than three decades, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on Friday, saying Nasrallah "has joined his fellow martyrs." The Israeli military said it carried out a precise airstrike while Hizbullah leaders were meeting at their headquarters in Dahiyeh, south of Beirut. The IDF said Ali Karki, the commander of Hizbullah's Southern Front, and other commanders were also killed. Iran announced Saturday that Gen. Abbas Nilforushan, 58, who the U.S. identified as the deputy commander for operations in Iran's Revolutionary Guard, died in the same airstrike.
