(JTA) Spain has paid Ariel University in the West Bank $107,000 in compensation for damages caused by its exclusion from an international competition among solar-energy innovators in 2009. The Spanish Council of State ruled that the exclusion of Ariel University violated the nation's constitution that forbids discrimination based on nationality or place of origin.
