(bitterlemons-international) Uzi Arad - The broader Middle East is home to the main strategic threats facing the Euro-Atlantic community, namely international terrorism and weapons of mass destruction proliferation. These threats, aimed at Israel as well, position Israel more than ever before on the Euro-Atlantic side. Indeed, there is a growing recognition of Israel's rightful place in the Euro-Atlantic Community in both Europe and the U.S. The writer is head of the Institute for Policy and Strategy at Herzliya's Interdisciplinary Center.
