In public opinion surveys in Gaza they have greater support than the Palestinian ruling party, Fatah. Fatah in Gaza is divided, and the split is expressed in harsh competition between the heads of the security services, who often conduct real battles with shooting, murder, and kidnapping. Representation of Gaza in the Palestinian leadership is quite meager.
