(Jerusalem Post) Khaled Abu Toameh - Hatem Abu Rizek, 35, a senior commander of Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, was killed on Saturday in Balata, near Nablus, in the West Bank by PA security officers. Rizek was said to be affiliated with Mohammed Dahlan, a rival of PA President Mahmoud Abbas. Some Palestinians claimed he was shot, while PA security sources said Abu Rizek was killed when a hand grenade he was trying to throw exploded in his hands.
