[Jerusalem Post] Khaled Abu Toameh - Nizar Rayyan was a sworn enemy not only of Israel, but also of the Palestinian Authority and Mahmoud Abbas. Rayyan personally led the Hamas militiamen who seized Abbas' compound in Gaza City and PA security installations throughout Gaza in 2007. A few months later, Rayyan issued a threat against Abbas, declaring that he would soon lead Friday prayers inside Abbas' compound in Ramallah, an indication of Hamas' intention to extend its control to the West Bank.
