[AP/Ha'aretz] Palestinian police killed two Hamas militants on Thursday after the men opened fire at security forces who had surrounded their underground hideout, Palestinian officials said. One officer was also killed in the operation, part of an intensifying crackdown on Islamic militants in the West Bank town of Kalkilya. The Hamas gunmen had been wanted by Israel for several years, and one of the dead men was wearing an explosives vest.
