(New York Times) Alan Cowell and Michael Slackman - President Ahmadinejad was quoted Thursday as saying his country had produced a first batch of uranium enriched to a level of 20%, taunting the West by declaring that if Tehran wanted to build a nuclear bomb, it would say so. Iran, he said, repeating an earlier assertion, was now "a nuclear state." "I want to announce with a loud voice here that the first package of 20% fuel was produced and provided to the scientists," he said. "In the near future we will treble its production." He continued: "We have the capability to enrich uranium more than 20% or 80%." 2010-02-11 08:47:07Full Article
