[Quinnipiac University] Americans' view of Israel has become even more positive since the recent war with Hizballah, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released Monday. When American voters were asked, "how friendly or unfriendly do you think" each nation or group is to the U.S., the top three were England - 78 percent, Canada - 72 percent, and Israel - 66 percent. When Quinnipiac last asked Americans to rate those nations in June, Israel received 63 percent. Israel's support in the U.S. is stronger among Republicans (71 percent) and independents (68 percent) than among Democrats (60 percent) and among men (72 percent) than women (61 percent). Other responses were Saudi Arabia - 38 percent, the PA - 23 percent - down from 25 percent, Syria - 22 percent, and Iran - 14 percent - down from 17 percent. 2006-08-30 01:00:00Full Article
