(Ha'aretz) Moti Bassok - On the eve of the Jewish New Year 5771, the population of Israel surpassed 7,645,500, of whom 5,770,900 are Jews, 1,559,100 are Arabs, and 315,500 are "other," according to data published by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
