(Jerusalem Post) Tovah Lazaroff - After 42 years as a closed military zone, the site where John baptized Jesus along the shores of the Jordan River, known as Kasr al-Yehud, will open to the public on Jan. 18. Israel has invested millions of shekels in upgrading the site, which will operate under the auspices of the Nature and Parks Authority.
