(Ha'aretz) Amos Harel - IDF troops killed senior Islamic Jihad commander Amjad Abu Shayih early Monday in the course of a broad IDF operation in Balata near Nablus. A second wanted Palestinian was wounded in the incident and seven fugitives were arrested. Large IDF forces had entered Balata in search of wanted militants and illegal arms, encountering intermittent gunfire and several bombs.
