(Ha'aretz) Amos Harel - The stability of Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime will come under threat during the year ahead, Israeli defense officials believe. "Assad is making every possible mistake," a senior defense official said. "He is on a collision course with the U.S. - and under certain circumstances, this could cost him his hold on power."
