The U.S. could take several steps to mitigate these risks without appearing complicit in Israel's decision to attack. The very act of taking precautionary measures to lessen the impact of a strike, moreover, would enhance the credibility of Israeli military threats and bolster the P5+1's ongoing nuclear diplomacy.
