(New York Times) Kareem Fahim and Rick Gladstone - Maj. Gen. Abdul Aziz Jassem al-Shallal, the chief of the Syrian military police and the top general responsible for preventing defections within the military, made a daring four-hour sprint by motorcycle across the border into Turkey, insurgents said Wednesday.
