(Ha'aretz) Head of the Shin Bet security service Avi Dichter said in talks with CIA Director George Tenet and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice in Washington that the PA is capable of taking on the militant Hamas organization if it has the desire to do so, Israel Radio reported Friday. Dichter pointed out that the PA security services in the Gaza Strip remain intact. During the discussions, an understanding was reached between Israel and the U.S. of the need to completely disarm Hamas and not to be satisfied by a ceasefire brokered from within the Palestinian camp. 2003-06-20 00:00:00Full Article
