(Village Voice) Alisa Solomon - For the first time in more than 15 years, the SUNY-New Paltz college administration has denied funding to the annual women's studies conference, asserting that it would not serve "the best interests of the university." The October 19 conference on "Women and War, Peace and Revolution" features Dr. Ruchama Marton, president of Israel's Physicians for Human Rights, and Nadia Hijab, a Palestinian writer.
