(Israel Defense) The Trophy active defense system, currently in operational service onboard the IDF's Merkava Mark IV tanks, successfully passed a series of tests and adaptations this week for the LAV III Armored Personnel Carrier by General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS). The tests over the course of the past year in Canada included comprehensive live fire tests aimed at the APC, including from advanced antitank rockets, recoilless guns, short range fire, fire from several directions and from different weapons simultaneously, and fire towards a vehicle in motion. The LAV III APC is in operational service in many militaries, including the Canadian Armed Forces, and is identical in its characteristics to the Stryker APC used extensively by the U.S. Army. 2013-10-23 00:00:00Full Article
