(MEMRI) The Al-Qassam Brigades comprises six units. The Infantry Unit constitutes 85% of the Brigades. Its job is to combat the enemy directly. The Special Unit conducts infiltration operations behind enemy lines. The Engineering Unit is responsible for military production and tunnel excavation. The Armored Unit is responsible for contending with armored vehicles and tanks using antitank missiles. The Artillery Unit is responsible for manufacturing and launching mortars and missiles.
