(CNBC) Katy Barnato - Saeed Laylaz, an economist who advised Iran's former president Mohammad Khatami, told CNBC on Tuesday that many inside the Iranian ruling regime actually "love" Western sanctions because they provided a smokescreen for their mismanagement of the economy.
