(Wall Street Journal) Seth G. Jones - Even as the U.S. struggles to combat Islamic State fighters in Iraq and Syria, IS is now expanding in a dozen countries across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. In Afghanistan and Pakistan, IS leaders reached out to disaffected Taliban commanders. In Nigeria, IS aids cash-strapped Boko Haram. IS is now linked directly or indirectly to attacks in Paris, Ottawa, Brussels, Copenhagen, Sydney and Garland, Texas. There have also been arrests of individuals affiliated with IS in New York and Minneapolis.
