U.S., Allies to Boost Aid to Syria Rebels

(Wall Street Journal) Adam Entous - The U.S. and its regional allies will increase shipments of weapons and other supplies from the CIA, Saudi Arabia and other allied spy services to help moderate Syrian rebels hold their ground and challenge the intervention of Russia and Iran on behalf of Syrian President Assad, U.S. officials and their counterparts in the region said. "Assad is not going to feel any pressure to make concessions if there is no viable opposition that has the capacity, through the support of its partners, to put pressure on his regime," an Obama administration official said.
