[New York Times] Isabel Kershner - Senior British diplomat Richard Makepeace, the British consul general in Jerusalem, met with Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya of Hamas in Gaza on Thursday to discuss the fate of kidnapped BBC correspondent Alan Johnston. It was the first meeting between a senior Hamas official and an official EU envoy since the new Palestinian unity government was formed in mid-March.
