(Guardian-UK) Martin Chulov - Iranian general Qassem Suleimani helped lead units of the Popular Mobilization Front (PMF), a Shia militia which has chased Islamic State from territories in northern Iraq, carving out a new swath of influence from Mosul to the Syrian border.
