(JTA) Delegates at the 31st General Synod of the United Church of Christ on Sunday voted 79% to 13% in favor of a resolution condemning Israel for its treatment of Palestinian children living in the West Bank, eastern Jerusalem and Gaza, and called on the U.S. to withhold military assistance to Israel. In response, Rabbi Noam Marans, director of interreligious and intergroup relations at the American Jewish Committee, said Monday, "The latest UCC resolution does nothing to advance the possibility of peace. Rather, by continuing to demonize Israel, UCC supports those who oppose peace." 2017-07-04 00:00:00Full Article
