(Times of Israel) Avi Issacharoff - The Israeli decision to set up walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem may well seem reasonable and justified, in light of the deadly terror attack last Friday. But any attempt to apply "reason" is irrelevant, as the measure has brought about a consensus of resistance among the Palestinians, as well as in the Arab and Muslim world. Israel insists it is not seeking to change the status quo or to create new facts on the ground on the Temple Mount - only to prevent further attacks. But in the minds of some Muslims, the Israeli security measures are seen as a precursor to a takeover of the compound.
