[Institute for Global Jewish Affairs] Manfred Gerstenfeld - The academic year 2007-2008 saw ongoing anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic incidents in various countries. Some attacks have become annual rituals such as Israel Apartheid Week and calls in the UK for discriminatory measures against Israeli universities and academics. In several U.S. and other universities anti-Israelism is endemic. But effective counteractions are increasing. There is now more exposure of Islamist racism and anti-Semitism on American campuses. There are European and British initiatives to enhance academic collaboration with Israeli universities. External monitoring bodies are exposing the hate culture and biased actions of some university lecturers.
