(Asharq Al-Awsat-UK) Nazeer Majli - Israel is giving a chance to efforts by Egypt and UN envoy Nickolay Mladenov to ease tensions with Gaza, despite Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' opposition. Israel's political and security cabinet on Wednesday endorsed the position of the Israeli army which opposes launching a large-scale military operation in Gaza against Hamas.
